Elevate K-12

Project Role

competitive research, information architecture, interaction design, prototyping and visual design

Elevate K-12 is a company that strives to offer high-quality education to all students, overcoming challenges such as location constraints and the scarcity of qualified teachers amid a shortage in the teaching workforce.

School district leaders at Elevate can have over 40 teachers working for their district. Currently, they have little to no background information about the teachers that are teaching their students. Through the teacher profile, school district leaders can get to know teachers better and can have more confidence in who is teaching their students.

The Problem

School district leaders at Elevate need a quick way to learn about the teachers working at their school so they can have confidence in who is teaching their students.

Teachers need a way to look over and edit their information so they can have ownership and feel confident on their professional image.

The Elevate marketing team would like a central platform to house Elevate teachers' basic information because the current process is time consuming and tedious.

Top Priorities

Enhancing the visibility of teachers will significantly contribute to strengthening the trust and connection between schools and teachers

Given the busy schedules of teachers and school district leaders, we seek a solution that is both time-efficient and user-friendly

Establish a centralized hub for the marketing team to conveniently gather information about teachers

Competitive Analysis

I researched companies with professional profiles to compile an inventory of layouts, categories, and labels, identifying those that would be suitable for Elevate teachers. After gathering feedback from Elevate teachers, I simplified the labels to include only the most essential information, addressing concerns about the widespread availability of their personal information.

Design Process

1

Collaborate with project managers to discuss research findings and ensure alignment on the vision and product requirements for teacher and school district profile pages.

2

Facilitate brainstorming sessions with fellow Elevate designers to explore and discuss ideas collaboratively.

3

Develop sketches and low-fidelity mocks to share with project managers, the engineering team, and other designers, providing an opportunity for feedback and explaining the rationale behind design decisions.

4

Generate high-fidelity mocks that incorporate feedback and adhere to the Elevate brand design.

5

Meet with the engineering team to discuss the feasibility of designs and make adaptations accordingly.

6

Distribute deliverables to all teams for final feedback and to support the development process.
